Our Cats We have three cats. If you have lots of animals, animal feed, hay, then you need cats to keep the rodent population down. Our cats come in and out of the house but live mostly outside. They are great mousers. Zelea We have Zelea a white cat with gray markings. We rescued her from the vets office. She was originally a feral cat that was found when she was a kitten. She was the last one and the most scared. She would hiss and growl every time someone came to see her she would scare them off. We don't see her often. The other cats chase her off :( She doesn't mind spending time alone. Iffie We also have Iffie. I guess Iffie is a tabby. But she has an orange tint. She was left with her sister in a carrier on our carport a few years back. I am glad we noticed her because the dogs would have had fun finding them. The dogs don't really like stray cats on the property. We named her sister Effie. We took her a friends barn because she was not getting along with the other cats. Iffie likes attention and will force you into giving it to you by climbing on you, or jumping on your back when you are out in the yard. She gets along great with the dogs and likes to play chase with Jack. Jack Jack is a calico that we got from a friend of ours. She also has no tale. It is not a bobbed tale. She has absolutely no tail at all. I had been looking for a calico for quite a while and was not having any luck finding a real calico. Most were black with other colors in them. I wanted a white cat with different colored patches. When I seen her and then noticed that she had no tail I had to have her. Our friends were nice enough to hold her for us until we got back from a trip. Once back we got to take her home. She is a sweetie. She loves Gerald. She does like a little more attention than I want to give her but that is ok. I have agreed to allow her to sit on my lap as long as she doesn't scratch and massage me :) Jack loves to play with the dogs and Iffie. She has to know everything that goes on around the property. Even when the goats were being born she was there to see what was going on. She is really a great cat and a great mouser. |
