Our Chickens

Now, if you like squawking, hollering, flapping, and all over craziness you have come to the right section of the website. I like crazy looking chickens. Here in Northeast Mississippi people will come to see my chickens and just shake their head. I had one guy tell me he has never seen a chicken so ugly. He was referring to one of my turken roosters. I like the unusual. Several years ago when I decided to get chickens, I went to www. feathersite.com  and started looking at all of the different breeds of chickens. There were many I wanted. But I had to settle on a few different breeds. I settled for silkies, turkens, light brahmas, and barred rocks. Since then I have tried many different breeds including d'uccles, penedesencas, marans, polish, appenzeller spitzhaubens, faverolles, americanas, Rhode Island Reds, showgirls, cochins, and some mixes. I don't know if I included every breed I have ever had or not. It is hard to keep up with them all. I have to admit that I was attracted to the odd ones and letting most of the others go. Now, I mainly raise Silkies, showgirls, polish, peeties (polish/turken mixes). I still have several of the others hanging around like my turken hen, a penedesenca hen, a maran hen, and several mixes. Oh, I forgot a few bantam cochins.

Since there are so many different types of chickens I decided it was best to put them on different pages. Just click on the links below to see the different varieties I have. Enjoy....
