Pokey
Pokey is our mess :) Pokey came from my sister. My sister was
caring for my Grandmother's shih tzu after my grandparents had past away. He got
her female pregnant and Pokey was one of the babies. I had to have one because
of the connection to my grandmother. When deciding on the name I chose to name
him after a poodle she had years ago. Its name was Pokey. Also the Book
"Pokey little puppy" was my favorite book as a child so I told my
sister I wanted a male spotted puppy. I didn't even pick him out myself because
we lived a few hours away from each other. He was born October 31, 2004. Yup,
that is right a Halloween baby. Maybe that is why he always looks the way he
does. I think it is funny that no matter what I do, he always looks a mess. He
is black and white as you can see from the pics. I can spend all day cleaning
and grooming him and then he walks away and shakes and his hair sticks straight
up in the air. I cannot get his hair back to the white color because he likes to
roll in the dirt. He is a mess. He loves to get dirty. If there is dirt, grease,
a gross dead critter, he will find it. He is a fun loving dog and loves to have
attention. He will play fetch and hopes you don't take that toy from him. He
will bring it to you, but if you are too slow he will take off and play chase.
He is fun to play with. He thinks he is a big dog and has Red, our Pit bull,
completely fooled. When he is resting, he would much rather be by your feet than
on your lap. He does like to touch your feet though. His favorite way of
greeting you is to wipe his wet and gooey face on your leg. Usually wet from
climbing into the toilet for a drink of water. If you leave the toilet closed he
will sit there barking at it until you open it. When outside he likes to run
right through the middle of the chickens. Just to get them all up and cackling.
I think it is a game with him. He never touches them or anything. Just likes to
get them all excited. He reminds us of the puppets from Sesame street. If he was
green we would call him Oscar, or orange Zoe. He is a great dog. He just has
some beauty issues :) |
