Showgirls

Showgirls are a cross between a silkie and a turken. Eventually, after many generations, you want to end up with a silkie with a naked neck. You want all of the qualities of a silkie especially the blue skin, silkie feathering, five toes, good foot and leg feathering, very few hard feathers, etc. I have been working on Showgirls since 2004. I had trouble finding some so I decided to create my own. I started out with a turken hen and a red silkie rooster.  I have enjoyed working on them but they do take a lot of work and patients. Two of my showgirls that hatched in 2008 came from another breeder.

These are f3's and f4's. I have a couple more but have not gotten pics yet. The grays are f3's and the blue hen and white cockerel are f4's. Hopefully this years hatchlings will go much better than last year. I had very few naked necks hatch out.
